Home-Start York

The Trustees are pleased to report a grant award to Home-Start York.

Established in 1988 as a voluntary organization, Home-Start York is dedicated to assisting parents with at least one child under the age of five. The organization facilitates weekly visits by volunteers to families in their own homes, providing essential support, friendship, and practical help.

This family-centered approach not only strengthens but also empowers families. By intervening positively during the early years, Home-Start helps prevent potential issues from escalating and enables parents to navigate their own paths toward lasting change.

In addition to home visits, Home-Start York offers structured groups for parents with children aged 0-2, as well as the Big Hopes Big Futures program. This initiative supports parents and children as they transition into nursery or educational settings. Furthermore, the organization provides assistance to pregnant women in their last trimester, helping them to feel emotionally prepared for the arrival of their new child.
