Chocolate & Co was established to dismantle and overcome employment barriers for individuals marginalized and living on the fringes of the York community due to struggles with addiction or having a criminal record.

Having witnessed the devastating effects of addiction firsthand, Chocolate & Co serves as a way to prevent more families from losing loved ones to addiction. It is a passionate endeavor, made fulfilling by the opportunity to work with incredible people.

The organization believes that transformational change stems from a sense of purpose, connectedness, and belonging, which forms the foundation of their paid employment project.

While they acknowledge they do not have all the answers, they believe solutions emerge from those with lived experiences of these challenges. With drive, energy, passion, and heart, Chocolate & Co aims to create a dynamic environment that supports individuals in fostering change and envisioning a brighter future.
