Open Country

The Trustees are pleased to report a grant award to Open Country in support of its York weekend walking group for people with disabilities.

Open Country works to improve access to the countryside for people with physical and learning disabilities, helping them enjoy the natural environment through organised activities. The York-based walking group offers twice-monthly guided outings, encouraging social connection, physical activity, and a greater sense of independence. The Trustees were particularly impressed by the charity’s commitment to making the countryside accessible and inclusive for all in the local area.
