The Trustees are pleased to report a grant award to the Sporting Memories Foundation.
Sporting Memories Foundation is a charity that develop and deliver reminiscence activities that improve the mental and physical well-being of older people (50+) and those living with dementia, depression and isolation. They do this through tapping into people’s passion, knowledge and love of sport and supporting local people to run innovative projects, that are inclusive, multi-faceted and utilise the power of sport to bring people and communities together
The grant will help the charity build on the success of the current sporting memories group delivered in partnership with York City FC Foundation and further develop two newly established groups in Wigginton and Easingwold, whom are benefiting from the positive impact running a regular sporting reminiscence group can bring.
