The Trustees are pleased to report a further grant award to the Prince’s Trust.
The Prince’s Trust run eight core programmes in Yorkshire and the Humber throughout the year, these courses cover a range of themes and are aimed at different demographics of young people in the region:
Employability and work experience: Our ‘Get Into’ programme and our ‘Get Hired’ initiative are focused on those young people who are most job ready.
Confidence building and team work: Our ‘Fairbridge’, ‘Get Started’ and ‘Team’ programmes arecourses designed to help young people with their personal development. Both Fairbridge and Team programmes include a residential component which is fantastic for increasing confidence amongst young people.
School age: ‘Achieve’ is a flexible programme which runs in education settings across the UK. Young people are given the space and attention they need to develop and improve their attitude to learning. ‘Mosaic’ is a school mentoring programme which matches young people with inspirational role models to help boost their confidence and long-term employability.
Entrepreneurship and grants: The ‘Enterprise’ programme offers support to young people who are looking in to the possibility of starting their own businesses. Young people receive mentoring, a 4 day course and access to funding for the first year of self-employment. ‘Development Awards’ are cash awards available to help young people tackle immediate financial barriers that may be preventing them from accessing education, training or employment.
