Every year thousands of children across the UK run away or are forced to leave homes that have become unbearable through poverty, abuse, violence and neglect.
Reaching a child as soon as possible is crucial to getting to children on the streets before an abuser can, and before they become entrenched in street life.
The Yorkshire project will support children referred from British Transport Police who have been identified as being at vulnerable and at risk within a 40-mile radius of Leeds station, this includes Doncaster, Sheffield, York and Bradford- all of which are in the top 20 stations with the highest number of child safeguarding incidents in the UK.
