The Trustees are pleased to report a grant award to Open Country.
Open Country is a Yorkshire-based charity with over 30 years of experience in enabling people with disabilities to access and enjoy the countryside. They achieve this through a variety of outdoor activities and the provision of information, training and advice.
Fully accessible transport is provided and staff are supported by teams of trained volunteers who are on hand to offer assistance as necessary.
The grant will go towards the entire cost of producing a “Breakfree” pack for York. This pack includes easy access routes that can be enjoyed by children, cyclists and people with disabilities, including wheelchair users. The packs have clear, colour maps for each location, with all the information you need to help plan your day
